When there are more valuable visits and early diagnostic screenings due to access to care, there are less visits to the emergency room and need for hospitalizations. The monthly membership is also comparable to many urgent care one time fees. However in a DPC, the provider knows your medical history and will more easily treat your urgent care needs as well. It is the recommendation for DPC members to all carry insurance plans in case there is a need for specialty or hospital care.
